Free Pattern 12" Block: Friendship Star

Friendship Star (12" Finished) Block

From Fabric 1 cut 4 pieces measuring 4 1/2" Square

From Fabric 1 cut 1 piece measuring 5 1/4" Square

From Fabric 2 cut 2 pieces measuring 4 7/8" Square

From Fabric 3 cut 1 piece measuring 4 1/2" Square

From Fabric 3 cut 1 piece measuring 5 1/4" Square

Take the 5 1/4" Square you have cut from Fabric 1 and Fabric 3 and cut on the diagonal, then cut on the other diagonal to create 4 triangles from each piece

Take the 4 7/8" Square you have cut from Fabric 2 and cut on the diagonal.

Take one of the triangles you have cut from fabric 1 and one of the triangles from fabric 3 and sew together as shown below. Repeat with the other triangles from fabric 1 and fabric 3. Iron.

Take one set of your newly sew triangles and sew with one of the triangles you have cut from fabric 2. Repeat with the other pieces you have cut to have a total of 4 sewn squares. Iron

Using the layout below sew the squares together.Sew block 1 to block 2, then sew block 3 to create Row 1. Repeat for the other rows. Then sew the rows together.

Iron and you are done!
